Welcome
“Can’t wait to work together again – I feel so lucky to have discovered you and your lovely freelance writing.” – Meg Krugel, Editor, Today’s OEA
Award-winning writer and teacher Amy Bowden is an unrepentant lover of words – and lucky for her, she spends all day, every day immersed in them.
When she’s not reading, she’s writing. Or, she’s teaching eager (and sometimes not-so-eager) students about the power of the written word. She specializes in environmental, education, and lifestyle reporting, but ultimately she is a connoisseur of learning, a cultural omnivore with a passion for new adventures. She is the author of The Zero-Waste Lifestyle: Live Well By Throwing Away Less (Ten Speed Press, 2012), part-memoir, part-how-to guide about her year of trash-free living. She is the creator of the Green Garbage Project, which has been featured on CNN, MSNBC, London’s The Guardian, and USA Today.
Amy has a Ed.D. in educational policy, methodology, and leadership and is currently enrolled in an MFA program for creative writing at Eastern Oregon University.
She lives in Eugene, Oregon with her family, two cats, a dog, and a betta fish.
